Land Rover has announced pricing and specifications for the plug-in hybrid (PHEV) variants of the new Range Rover, which the company says offer “exceptional efficiency” and an all-electric range of up to 70 miles.

Prices start at £103,485 for the P440e, powered by a 3.0-litre turbo inline-six petrol engine mated to a 38.2 kWh battery and a 141 hp electric motor. Land Rover claims a total output of 434 hp and 457 lb-ft.

The P510e has a more powerful 3.0-litre petrol engine but uses the same 38-kWh battery and 141-hp electric motor for 503 hp and 516 lb-ft of torque.

Both variants are available in SE, HSE, and Autobiography trim levels. The P440e models can be chosen with a long or short wheelbase, while the more powerful P510e is only available with a short wheelbase.

All models feature all-wheel steering, a panoramic sunroof and a range of technological enhancements as standard, including a new 13.1-inch infotainment system to control essential vehicle functions, Amazon Alexa voice recognition and wireless smartphone mirroring.

A First Edition model will also be available to buy in the model’s first year of production. The trim level is based on that of the Autobiography, but the limited edition variant will also receive a satin Sunset Gold paint finish or a choice of five other exterior colours.

Both powertrains offer an all-electric range of up to 70 miles – more than JLR‘s estimate of 62 miles and eight miles more than the EV range of the new Mercedes-Benz C-Class PHEV

The new Range Rover PHEV also emits 18 g/km of CO2, less than the 30 g/km initially forecast.

Land Rover estimates that the Range Rover PHEV has a range of 54 miles and expects the driver to make 75% of all journeys on electric power alone. The Range Rover also has a 50kW fast-charging function that allows it to be charged from zero to 80% in less than an hour or five hours via a wall box at home.

“The new Range Rover is the most desirable, stylish and capable luxury SUV in the world,” said Nick Collins, Executive Director of Vehicle Programmes at JLR

“Our efficient new extended-range plug-in hybrid powertrains enhance the driving experience with a fine balance of performance, refinement and efficiency, allowing owners to travel whisper-quiet, zero-emission journeys of up to 70 miles.”

The Range Rover will be the first vehicle in the Land Rover range in an all-electric variant in 2024. The company intends to offer an electric version of all its models by the end of the decade. This is part of the 2039 target to achieve net-zero emissions for the entire company.
