Mazzanti Evantra Pura Is 750 Bhp Italian Hypercar With American DNA

Many supercars/hypercars use Chevrolet’s small-block V8 engines LS. Still, it’s a shock to see such an engine in an all-Italian, Tuscan-built hypercar. Yes, this is the Mazzanti Evantra Pura, and its 6.2-litre supercharged engine comes from the USA.

You might remember Mazzanti from 2016 when it launched the 1,000-horsepower Millecavalli. The Evantra Pura is not quite as powerful – it has 751bhp and 715lb-ft of torque – and while it looks similar to the Millecavalli, the focus is apparently on a “purer” driving experience. That makes sense.

That’s why it weighs just 1,280kg. It reaches a top speed of 223 mph and does 0-62 mph in 2.9 seconds. So it’s still fast.

Oh, and you have probably noticed the ferocious packaging it’s wearing in the pictures above. It’s a wonder it took us this long to come up with it. It was designed for this year’s Florence Biennale art exhibition, where the car was unveiled. That’s the Goddess of Immortality on the bonnet and a Biancone bird of prey (aka snake eagle) on the roof – because why would not those two things be on your new lightweight hypercar?
