The Peugeot 508 GT features a brand new 8-speed automatic transmission that sees the French brand offer customers a dynamic and sportier variant of its radical saloon.
Previously available in three trim levels, “Active”, “Allure”, and “GT-line”, the 1.6-litre turbo engine found in the all-new Peugeot 508 GT will receive a significant power boost of 52 HP, providing an instinctive and versatile driving experience that exemplifies the brand’s vision of an exciting future.
Rakesh Nair, Managing Director at Groupe PSA in the GCC, said: “The Peugeot 508 was a game-changer in the executive saloon segment, challenging premium automotive brands with its futuristic design language and cutting-edge technology. With the sporty 508 GT, we have introduced a model that solidifies our ambitions of providing our customers with the perfect balance between performance, comfort and technology – it is the perfect embodiment of our driver-focused philosophy.
“As Peugeot continues its resurgence in the Middle East, the introduction of the 508 GT is testament to the brand’s desire to reach all types of customers. We look forward to what the year has in store, and to the success, this new model can bring.”
Whilst remaining true to its acclaimed predecessors – the iconic Peugeot 504 and 504 coupé – the 508 GT is a sleeker, more seductive shape. The front end’s purposeful stance is highlighted by the radiator grill, complete with a chrome-plated chequerboard effect, which sits between the LED headlights with the famous Peugeot Lion centred on its grill and the 508 logo on the bonnet.
Vertical LED daytime running lights provide a distinct identity, and the bonnet has been lowered to enhance the dynamic look perfectly aligned with modern Peugeot design language. The roofline of the 508 GT is low and sleek – following premium sector design cues – and the rear lights are framed in a glossy black horizontal strip that now features many of Peugeot latest vehicles. Three-dimensional full-LED rear lights inspired by recent Peugeot concept cars appear like coloured ‘lion claws’ a design feature synonymous with the Peugeot brand.
The 508 GT features cutting-edge technology – including the latest evolution of its trademark Peugeot i-Cockpit®.
The central touch-screen is perfectly positioned and accompanied by seven ‘piano key’ toggle switches which operate the main i-Cockpit® features: radio, air conditioning, navigation, vehicle settings, telephone, phone mirroring, ambient-lighting in addition to multi-point seat-massage.
Entirely customizable with six different display modes, the i-Cockpit® head-up display unit is positioned above the steering wheel and presents driving information within the driver’s eye line.
The 508 GT features a refined, yet sporty interior and is fitted with comfortable AGR certified, red Nappa leather seats- or optionally black Alcantara & Nappa leather seats which envelop passengers in a soft, modern, refined environment. The careful assembly of all of these components is the true hallmarks of luxury, sport saloons.
There is plenty of storage space – up to 32 litres – spread out around the passenger cabin, as well as many sockets for charging portable device, including a wireless charging spot. The car is also equipped with a wide-opening panoramic sunroof that floods the cabin with light, a hands-free tailgate with a foot sensor and a premium audio system by Focal® for unmatched acoustics.
The 508 GT offers a wide range of latest-generation driving aids:
For 2021, the 508 GT will be available for customers in January 2021, with a 2022 model also coming to the region in March 2021.
