Cyan Racing Continues Intense TCR World Tour Double Header in South America

The Lynk & Co Cyan Racing drivers will be back on track in Argentina this weekend, less than one week after the double victory in Uruguay, as the intense TCR World Tour doubleheader continues.

The spectacular Autódromo Internacional José Carlos Bassi in La Pedrera will host the sixth TCR World Tour race weekend of 2023 as the title fight heats up.

Yann Ehrlacher secured a solid points haul in Uruguay and heads closest rival Norbert Michelisz of Hyundai by 20 points at the top of the standings ahead of this weekend.

“The target is always to fight for pole and the race’s top three. This weekend is no exception. We had an amazing weekend in Uruguay, but there are a lot of unknowns again, as we’ve never raced here before. The track looks wide fast, and I look forward to learning it,” said Yann Ehrlacher.

Santiago Urrutia scored a famous win on home soil in Uruguay last weekend and is keen to continue his South American success.

“I’m super happy to race in Argentina, where I’ve raced a lot of karting. I’ve never raced at La Pedrera. It almost resembles a street circuit with walls very close to the track. My ambition is to have another good weekend, continue our team lead and climb the drivers’ championship standings,” said Santiago Urrutia.

The race weekend in Ururugay also saw success for Ma Qing Hua, who claimed his first-ever TCR World Tour win behind his Lynk & Co 03 TCR race car.

“I’m still running on the emotions from my first win with the team, which I will use this weekend. This circuit is new for almost everyone in the championship, so we need to be light on our feet and adapt to the challenges that will come. I feel confident and strong!” said Ma Qing Hua.

2017 world champion Thed Björk continued his consistent form last weekend and climbed to fifth overall.

“We’ve said it many times before, but it’s still true about consistently scoring. And we’ve managed to do that as a team this year. But we can never relax as many races and points are left to fight for. It’s a motivation boost to head to another new and spectacular circuit that we need to adapt to. I’m certainly looking forward to it,” said Thed Björk.

The TCR World Tour weekend in Argentina starts on Friday with practice, followed by qualifying and Race 1 on Saturday – with Sunday featuring Race 2.
