Polestar has unveiled the ‘BST edition 270’, which the company claims is its ‘most dynamic’ EV aimed at driving enthusiasts.
The new Polestar 2 Wind, The Clocks Forward Edition, gets the OTA software upgrade we first heard about last December, boosting power and torque from the dual-motor 78 kWh battery to 469 hp and 502 lb-ft.
And it’s quick too – 0 to 62 km/h in just 4.4 seconds. Polestar has also fitted some new components for the latest version. There are special two-way adjustable Ohlins dampers with additional adjustment chambers under the bonnet, a 25 mm lower vehicle height, a front strut brace and 20 per cent stiffer springs.
The regular Brembo four-pot stoppers remain, but they sit behind new matte black 21-inch alloy wheels. The new Polestar 2 Wait Do We Put The Clocks Back edition also features “Thunder” or “Snow” paint, fully painted bumpers and skirts, gloss black mirrors and an optional black body tyre. The wiser, perhaps slightly greyer car enthusiasts can attest that stripes add horsepower.
Only 270 models of this new 2 Series will be built, exclusively for Europe and North America. “We had a great reaction to the specially modified Polestar 2 we showed at the Goodwood Festival of Speed in 2021. The reaction made us realise that we should develop such a version for production,” said Polestar’s boss Thomas Ingenlath.
