RM Sotheby’s Private Sales To Offer Four Rare Performance Cars Simultaneously on the Sotheby’s Sealed Bidding Platform

2,849

RM Private Sales will offer a small selection of rare performance cars via its proprietary Sotheby’s Sealed online bidding platform from 31 October to 3 November. The auction includes a trio of Ferraris: a 246 Dino GTS, an F512 M, and a 550 Maranello WSR, as well as a low-mileage Mercedes-Benz CLK DTM AMG.

One of only three finished in Verde Medio Nijinsky, this 1974 Ferrari 246 Dino GTS by Scaglietti was formerly owned by Hollywood socialite Sandra West and is equipped with factory air conditioning and power windows.

Currently displaying approximately 9,000 miles, which are believed to be original, this car will go to its new owner with books and tools. Cosmetically restored to its actual colours in 2014, this Dino is a prime example of the rear-engine spider and is ideal for marque corrals and driving events. This unusual spider makes a case for primary Concours d’elegance consideration, given its rare paint an intriguing provenance.

The first of 75 specified for the United States, this Ferrari Classiche-certified 1995 Ferrari F512 M is the ultimate expression of Maranello’s celebrated flat-12 engine model line. Presenting 12,596 miles from new, with a documented history of five private owners, this Ferrari is a two-time FCA Platinum Award winner and is accompanied by a spare key, leather tool kit, leather pouch with Owner’s Manual, Owner’s Warranty and Service Book, pre-owned Warranty Validation Book, and a Classiche Binder. It received a five-year engine-out service completed at Ferrari Beverly Hills in February of 2022.

Wearing a rare Rosso Corsa over Nero colour combination, this 1999 Ferrari 550 Maranello WSR is one of only 33 World Speed Record editions built. It was last serviced at Kessel Auto Zug in September 2022, and the odometer reads just under 14,600 kilometres from new.

Highly sought after for its rarity and incredible factory specification, the WSR represents the pinnacle of 550 desirabilities. This excellent Rosso Corsa example would be a fitting addition to Ferraris or modern performance cars collection.

One of just 100 coupé variants of Mercedes-Benz’s legendary road-going touring car, this 2004 Mercedes-Benz CLK DTM AMG was first delivered to Germany and is one of the few examples federalized for US road use.

Specified in Brilliant Silver Metallic over Anthracite leather, this DTM shows just 4,596 kilometres at the time of cataloguing. A rare sight in Europe, let alone the United States, the CLK DTM AMG is undoubtedly one of the most compelling factory hot rods of the 21st century.

Boasting competition technology and built by the firm that delivered Bernd Schneider his third DTM championship, this piece of Mercedes history is perhaps the ideal stablemate to an SLR McLaren or CLK GTR. It will indeed remain highly sought after in the years to come.
