Peugeot Reveals the Ultimate Recreational Concept Car Based on the Popular Boxer LCV

Allowing explorers to immerse in nature fully, The Boxer 4×4 Concept’s ‘Wanderlust Green’ satin body colour blends in with environment while its robust body frame gives the impression of strength. Equipped for any adventure during day or night, eight LED lights integrated directly into the bodywork above the windscreen will light up the road less travelled.

Built on the footprint of a Peugeot Boxer L3, the 6m wheel-base offers adventurers a 10m² living space; ideally designed for three people. Inside, there are four distinct zones – a kitchen and dining area, sleeping area, bathroom and driver’s station.

A multitude of storage spaces make stowing sports equipment or camping gear easy. The interior is a refreshing cocoon, with soothing light tones that contrast with the exterior. Woodwork, upholstery and interior trims have all been designed specifically for this concept. A sporty technical mesh is combined with Alcantara® ‘Greval Grey’ – a new upholstery featured on Peugeot’s e-208 GT, 508 Hybrid GT, 508 SW Hybrid GT and 3008 Hybrid4. For maximum comfort, the entire cabin is covered in fabric.

Eco-efficiency and durability are at the heart of the Boxer 4×4 Concept – extraordinary attention-to-detail has gone into choosing the materials: the table, the worktop and the sink are all made of Aragonite –a white natural mineral, which combines natural stone with the beauty of ceramic. The floor is made of 100% recycled materials including car tanks, milk bottles and other various white plastics resulting in a reduction of 75 kg of CO2 compared to a standard plastic floor.

To respectfully explore nature, the concept adopts the latest pollution control standards with FAP and SCR and complies with the latest Euro 6 standards. Comfortable in gravel, mud, snow and rocky roads, its 4×4 Dangel transmission offers three driving modes:
– 2WD mode
– 4WD mode
– Lock mode (useful for extreme terrains)
Dangel is a long-standing partner of the brand and a renowned specialist in 4WD conversions.

The Boxer 4×4 Concept is equipped with off-road tyres provided by BF Goodrich, and has a ground clearance 30mm higher at the front and 50mm higher at the rear than the standard production model, allowing it to overcome most obstacles. Moreover, the steepest slopes won’t stop the Boxer thanks to its BlueHDi 165 engine with 6-speed manual gearbox which comfortably develops 370Nm of torque.

An adventure isn’t complete without some sporty accessories; the concept comes with a Canadian walnut canoe which is stored on the roof rack – custom-made to ensure the skylights can still be opened when the canoe is in situ – and accessed via a ladder on the side of the van. Completing the adventure theme – a Peugeot eM02 FS Powertube ATV electrically-assisted mountain bike is also included.
