INEOS Automotive has announced a bespoke expedition for adventurous 4X4 drivers, covering 1,500km over eight days in South Africa. The exclusive trip will give 16 guests access to breathtaking scenery, luxury accommodations and a hands-on overlanding drive in Grenadiers that will never be forgotten.

The inaugural expedition will be locally curated and start on 4 May. It will traverse game reserves and private estates, staying at selected premium hotels, luxury game lodges, and a private manor house.

Departing from Cape Town, the trip will go through Paarl and Wellington Winelands, over the Cedarberg wilderness area, Roggeveld and the Outeniqua Mountains and through the Tankwa and Great Karoo biomes before finishing at Gqeberha on the Eastern Cape coastline.

The adventure will be led by INEOS Kavango, the specialist conversion division based in northern Botswana, which has extensive regional experience.

Charles Van Rensburg, CEO of INEOS Kavango, said: “Overlanding is the ultimate way to experience Africa, and this trip adds local knowledge and the right equipment for those who want the adventure but haven’t the time or expertise to organise it. Our overlanders can expect a once-in-a-lifetime experience and a test drive that won’t be forgotten.”

The excursion is designed to give 4X4 drivers worldwide the opportunity to put the INEOS Grenadier through its paces in the incredible environment it was engineered to tackle quickly. Spaces are limited to just sixteen guests and include all planned activities, freshly prepared meals, and full technical and logistical support. Professional off-road guides will lead the expedition with local specialists and will be captured by a dedicated video and photography team.

Lynn Calder, CEO of INEOS Automotive, said: “I’ve tested the Grenadier personally in several of the locations this expedition will cover, and it’s exhilarating, a drive the vehicle was built for. This promises to be an exceptional experience with the hands-on knowledge that’s incredibly rare and lets you focus on your adventure.”

Three further expeditions – one each in Botswana, Namibia and South Africa- are scheduled for later in the year.
