Volvo Car USA Reports Sales of 7,693 Cars in January With 80 Per Cent Increase in BEV Sales

Volvo Car USA today reported sales of 7,693 cars in January, up 8.2 per cent compared with last year’s sales of fully electric vehicles growing 80.1 per cent.

The share of Recharge models — those with pure electric and plug-in hybrid powertrains – sold in the U.S. continued to climb, reaching 30.8 per cent during the month, a 1.8 per cent increase over December 2022.

The Americas Region sold 10,130 cars in January, a 15 per cent increase over the same period last year, with Recharge models accounting for 40 per cent of overall sales.

The Canadian market saw a region’region’significant year-over-year increase in Recharge sales — 107.6 per cent — with Latin America and the U.S. showing 92.3 and 24.2 per cent increases, respectively.

Fully electric cars accounted for 12.9 per cent of sales across the region.
