Volvo Car USA and Canada Reports Sales of 8,755 in January
Volvo Car USA and Canada report sales of 8,755 cars for January, up 5.4 per cent over the same period last year. Electrified models—those with a fully electric or plug-in hybrid powertrain—increased 43.8 per cent compared to the previous year and accounted for 35.8 per cent of sales during the year’s first month.
January sales in the US reached 8,136 cars, up 5.4 per cent over the same period last year. Sales of electrified models represented 34.4 per cent, an increase of 49.3 per cent compared to the previous year.
In Canada, sales were up 4.4 per cent over the same period last year, with a volume of 619 cars. Sales of electrified models accounted for 53.3 per cent, an increase of 9.6 per cent compared to the previous year.
In the US and Canada, the XC60 compact luxury SUV was the top-selling model with 3,149 cars sold during January, followed by the XC90 midsize luxury SUV (2,748 vehicles) and XC40 small luxury SUV (1,370 cars).
