Lynk & Co Cyan Racing will be back on track this weekend at the Hungaroring as the FIA World Touring Car Cup season continues.

The team faced a cancelled race at the Nürburgring less than two weeks ago due to tyre issues, losing out on a potentially strong points haul following a competitive qualifying result.

“The Nordschleife was actually good in terms of pace and we look forward to continue that this weekend. I think the Hungaroring suits our car pretty well and I like the circuit. It’s always a good atmosphere and I look forward to fighting for more championship points, my ambitions are quite high for the weekend,” said Yann Ehrlacher.

The team is nonetheless working hard to prepare for the future challenges in Hungary, where scorching weather conditions are expected, a circuit where Santiago Urrutia has enjoyed success.

“The Hungaroring has always been good to me, I won here last year and I claimed my first racing podium here back in 2012. I like the track but it’s going to be very hot, so we need to be careful with that. I’m looking forward to get back racing again and I hope we can put everything in place for a strong weekend in terms of points,” said Santiago Urrutia, who is placed fourth overall, just 13 points from the lead.

Ma Qing Hua is placed fifth overall after a solid start to the season, securing a podium finish during his debut WTCR weekend for the team in France.

“It was a shame we couldn’t race at the Nürburgring, especially for me as I hoped to gain more experience of the track. But I think we can be back strongly in Hungary and I’m really looking forward to hopefully collect more points this weekend,” said Ma Qing Hua.

Team-mates Yvan Muller and Yann Ehrlacher are placed sixth and seventh overall, showing strong potential in Germany two weeks ago, where the reigning champion qualified fourth.

“We have reloaded and are ready for the Hungaroring. We are as always racing with the goal of fighting for the win, this weekend is no exception,” said Yvan Muller.

2017 world champion Thed Björk secured his so far best qualifying of the season at the Nürburgring with sixth, a position he aims to improve this weekend.

“I’m looking forward to the Hungaroring races, it’s one of the highlights of the calendar with plenty of awesome fans on site. It’s still early days in the season, so we’re fighting hard to consistently deliver strong results as a team and of course for me individually for the drivers championship,” said Thed Björk.
