Is This Maserati’s Long-Promised GranTurismo Folgore EV?

Maserati has announced a collaboration with ROKiT Venturi Racing for Formula E in 2023. To make sure the entire automotive world reported it, the bosses of the two companies shook hands in front of the long-promised GranTurismo Folgore EV.

We are very much on board if this is the final design. Even with the light camouflage, the GranTurismo is unmistakable with its fantastic profile, but there’s also an updated grille and new headlights at the front.

Just a few weeks ago, Maserati confirmed that there would be a three-engine powertrain for the next generation GT with more than 1,200bhp and 0-62mph acceleration in under three seconds.

The company also promised “best-in-class handling” and “premium turbocharging”. Not much is asked of the engineers, then.

More as soon as we have it…
