CyberKAT: A Cybertruck-Inspired Remote Controlled Snowcat That’ll Soon Come With a Snowblower
The Tesla Cybertruck, unveiled in concept form two years ago, is not yet available, but its crazy, edgy design has inspired many different products, including Tesla’s Cyberquad for Kids and Cyberwhistle. That winter is already here, and snow is falling in many states, independent company Spyker Workshop has introduced the CyberKAT, a remote-controlled, all-electric snowcat that looks like a mini Cybertruck on tracks.
The CyberKAT is 29 inches (73.7 cm) long, 19 inches (48.3 cm) wide and 9.5 inches (24.1 cm) high. As the video shows, the tracks combined with the 4.25 inches (10.8 cm) of ground clearance make it perfect for driving in the snow.
The model is based on an aluminium sheet metal frame and has triangular surfaces and LED lighting units reminiscent of a squashed Cybertruck. Under the easily removable cover are four 12 V batteries attached with Velcro SLA, 775 size brushless electric motors, a custom CNC aluminium gearbox with high-speed or high-torque settings and PCB boards for the lighting.

While this is the standard configuration, the model is also compatible with other battery types and e-motors, depending on each owner’s preferences. It also has a trailer hitch intended for the CyBlower, a future snowblower developed by the same company. The CyBlower will increase the CyberKAT’s usability and allow it to clean your front garden while having fun.
The creator of the CyberKAT is Ryan Butler, who has already built three prototypes with 3D printed test parts and will soon begin production using injection moulding of acetal Delrin. He is also working on an instruction manual, as the CyberKAT needs to be assembled. In the pictures he posted online, we see a model with an orange paint job, indicating that other colours will be offered besides the classic aluminium silver.
Unlike the Cybertruck, which has been delayed, the CyberKAT will be delivered to its first owners in January or February 2022. The model is already available for pre-order, with prices ranging from $1,299 to $1,499 depending on the configuration.
