Letrons: Luxury Car in Disguise

Turkish company Letvision unveiled a real-life version of a Transformer last week: It’s a BMW 3 Series prototype that’s as cool as it sounds. Letvision worked on the prototype for roughly 14 months.

According to Evren Tanrikulu, an owner at Letvision and the head of research and development, the Letrons car has a computer installed within them that allows for real-time communication with the car by remote.

They have a head, arms, and legs that retract into the car, taking up too much space to allow for a person to drive the Letrons car from the inside. While that may change in the future, the only option is to use the remote.

The head can rotate up to 120 degrees, and the software provides a voice interaction feature. While the real-life Transformer doesn’t have the capability to walk just yet, the company said this functionality could be added with additional funding.

Letvision plans to sell the cars and is currently exploring what companies might be interested in using them at auto shows or theme parks.
