2016 Jeep Wrangler: Best-in-Class Off-road Performance

The Rubicon gets front and rear locking differentials, a 4.0:1 low-gear ratio, and a disconnecting front anti-roll bar for wheel articulation and rock-crawling prowess.

Most comfortable interior in its class

Inside the 2016 Wrangler, you’ll enjoy ample storage space, thoughtfully designed ergonomics and noise, vibration and harshness protection. You’ll also get comfort and convenience features including: available heated leather-trimmed front seats, illuminated cup holders, lighting in the foot-well and an available auto-dimming rear-view mirror with integrated LED map lights.

Authentic to the core

With its fender flares, iconic seven-slot grille and removable doors and top, the 2016 Wrangler is stylishly capable and fun to drive. For an upscale premium appearance, choose the available body-color Freedom Top® hardtop option on the Sahara and Rubicon models.

Best-in-Class highway fuel economy

The 2016 Wrangler boasts a powerful and efficient 3.6L Pentastar® V6 engine with 17 city / 21 hwy mpg. This 285-horsepower engine is ready to provide you with power, satisfying fuel efficiency with up to 472 highway miles on a tank of gas and will deliver up to 260 pound-feet of torque.

Command-Trac® and Rock-Trac® 4×4 Systems

The Command Trac® 4×4 system splits torque 50/50 between the front and rear axles for off-roading or for conditions where more traction is required. The main case joint is clamped by 18 bolts for added structural stiffness.

The Rock-Trac® 4×4 system helps deliver more control and more torque at the wheels to help you go virtually anywhere you point your vehicle. The Rock-Trac 4:1 low gear ratio and crawl speed provides the Rubicon with greater torque at the wheels — making it easier to trek over obstacles like large rocks and timber and ascend or descend sharp inclines.

Differentials, axles, sway bars and shocks

Wrangler Rubicon offers mono-tube shock absorbers which feature low-speed tunable valve technology that’s firm on the rocks and relaxed at higher speeds. Standard Dana 44 front and rear axles are equipped with Tru-Lok® locking differentials and offer the ultimate in traction. The front axle sway bar disconnect allows for better articulation off-road.

Airbags and anti-lock brakes

Wrangler comes with a wide range of standard and available safety and security features including standard advanced multistage front airbags and available side-supplemental airbags with sensor detection. Additional features include body-on-frame construction, an on-road/off-road four-wheel disc Anti-lock Brake System (ABS), Brake Assist and more.
